Any sock quality yarn from light fingering yarn to DK weight yarn (yarn for needle size 2.00 - 3.00 mm). I used around 250 meters of the Schachenmayr Regia 6-ply yarn for the sample socks. A 100-gram skein will typically be enough for mid-calf-high socks
and shoe sizes below 42 (EU) or ~10 (US).
