- Using the same gauge, your finished rat will measure approximately 14.5 cm (5.5 inches).

- The rat is worked in the round. Knitting begins at the nose. Next, you'll shape the neckline in short rows and knit the body. Then, using half the stitches, you'll form one leg, then the second. The arms, tail, and ears are worked in the round separately and then sewn to the body. The sweater is worked in the round with raglan increases.

Yarn weight: fingering.

Gauge: 7.5 sts and 10.5 rows in 2.5 cm stockinette stitch (7.5 sts and 10.5 rows in 1 inch) using 2.5 mm (US 1.5) needles.

Materials:
* 2.5 mm (US 1.5) double-pointed needles (DPN), set of 5,
* 2.0 mm (US 0) double-pointed needles (DPN), set of 5, for the sweater ribbing,
* approximately 70-90 m of lightweight main color yarn. I used Drops Alpaca color 100 (50g = 167m / 183yds), and scraps of pink for the legs, arms and tail, I used Drops Nord solid color 21 (50g = 170m / 186yds),
the same weight for the finger for the sweater, I used Drops Alpaca color 7895 (50g = 167m / 183yds),
* tapestry needle,
* 2 stitch markers,
* 2 x 5mm safety eyes,
* toy stuffing (e.g. polyfill),
* 2.5mm crochet hook (for toes and fingers),
* a sewing needle and light pink and pink yarn for the nose and mouth (or just pink yarn),
* scissors.
